Axle is seeking a Scientist to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) located in Bethesda, MD. Benefits We Offer: 100% Medical, Dental & Vision Coverage for Employees Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays 401K match up to 5% Educational Benefits for Career Growth Employee Referral Bonus Flexible Spending Accounts: Healthcare (FSA) Parking Reimbursement Account (PRK) Dependent Care Assistant Program (DCAP) Transportation Reimbursement Account (TRN) Additional Qualifications: Certifications & Licenses B.S. or M.S. in immunology or closely related field is required Field of Study Miscellaneous Biology Software MS Software Skills Experience with flow cytometry technology and data analysis is required Deliverables: Clean Equipment - Daily Meet with lab members to present updates - Weekly Statement of Work Details: Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and update procedural manuals and methods for the Flow Cytometry Core. - 1 Perform a wide range of procedures and techniques to include, analytical flow cytometry, cell sorting flow cytometry, monoclonal fluorescent conjugation and panel staining procedures. - 2 Interface with researchers, suppliers, reference labs, and equipment personnel to support operational needs. - 3 Supports the planning and execution of research experiments in the context of the laboratory's overall research program. Develop assays to support development and/or QC testing as needed to support the flow cytometry core facilities and analytical programs. Supports laboratory staff on research projects and techniques. Draft standard operating procedures and update as needed. Interact with students, post-doctoral fellows and non-doctoral research technicians on experimental design and laboratory-based methodologies. Maintains laboratory equipment and the training of others in their use. Assists in maintaining adequate space and facilities for ongoing and projected research studies. Ensure safe laboratory practices are being implemented- Assist with lab supply inventory and procurement. Evaluates, analyzes and interprets research data, communicates results and methods in reports, presentations, and manuscripts. Identify and address unexpected test discrepancies, recommending solutions. Analyze laboratory testing reports and maintain detailed logs of all work-related activities. Attend and present at the annual International Society for Advancement of Cytometry (ISAC) meeting. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. #IND Salary Range $90,000 — $110,000 USD
