Backend Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a small engineering team building AI-enabled infrastructure for private market operations. You will own core backend systems that support financial workflows, with a focus on reliability, permissions, auditability, and traceability across hosted and self-hosted deployments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build and maintain backend infrastructure for permissions, auditability, traceability, and observability.

• Manage deployment architectures for hosted and self-hosted environments using infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Improve production reliability, performance, and security.

• Partner with product teams to deliver features while maintaining high quality standards.

• Use AI-native development practices to support rapid, high-quality releases.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 1 to 6 years of professional backend development experience.

• Production experience building backend services with TypeScript and NestJS.

• Production experience with PostgreSQL and Prisma.

• Experience managing deployments with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.

• Practical experience with AI, machine learning, LLMs, or AI-native systems.

• Experience improving production systems in areas such as reliability, security, performance, observability, or auditability.

• Interest in financial operations and building dependable systems for complex workflows.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Annual salary range: €70,000 to €110,000. Visa sponsorship is available.

LOCATION

This is an on-site role based in Berlin, Germany.
