Data Scientist

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a fast-moving AI and machine learning team building data-driven products in a startup environment. This role is suited to technically strong, quantitatively minded builders; a previous data science title is not required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build and ship practical machine learning and data science solutions in an early-stage, zero-to-one environment.

• Use agentic AI coding tools as part of your daily development workflow.

• Work with ambiguous data and contribute to production-focused technical work across the team.

• Help the team maintain a high pace of execution in an intense startup setting.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Five or more years of relevant technical experience, with an engineering or other strong technical background.

• Strong quantitative foundations, such as a rigorous quantitative degree, advanced mathematics training, or equivalent demonstrated ability.

• Daily hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.

• Experience as an early hire at a startup, ideally within the first 15 employees, and evidence of building in a zero-to-one environment.

• Comfort operating at a demanding pace and working through ambiguous problems.

• Retail or fresh produce experience is not required; the role is within AI and machine learning.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Annual base salary is €70,000 to €110,000. Visa sponsorship is available. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to Berlin.

LOCATION

Hybrid in Berlin, Germany. Candidates should be based in Berlin or willing to relocate.
