Product Engineer (Mid-Level)

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-stack Product Engineer role at a small, fast-moving AI-powered recruiting platform in San Francisco. You will work directly alongside founders, product, and design to build user-facing features end-to-end, shaping both technical direction and product outcomes at an early stage of growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own product features from requirements through to production deployment.

• Design APIs and data models, then implement both frontend and backend code.

• Ship and iterate on user-facing experiences, balancing usability, performance, and feedback-driven improvements.

• Integrate LLM and AI capabilities into core product flows in a reliable, production-grade way.

• Build and maintain scalable backend services, data schemas, and operational tooling including CI/CD, monitoring, and testing.

• Collaborate with founders, product, and design to prioritize work and define success metrics.

• Contribute to architecture and roadmap discussions, making pragmatic tradeoffs suited to early-stage growth.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2 to 8 years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping user-facing products.

• Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript and React/Next.js on the frontend, plus Python or Node.js on the backend.

• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

• Practical, production experience integrating LLMs or other AI services (engineering focus, not research).

• Clear product sense: the ability to translate user problems into practical, measurable solutions.

• Comfort operating in small teams with limited process, high ambiguity, and context-switching across frontend, backend, and DevOps.

• Experience with multi-tenant or enterprise-ready systems, API design, real-time systems, or high-throughput applications is a plus.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and background in regulated industries such as healthcare, fintech, or legal is a bonus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $150,000 to $300,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

LOCATION

On-site in San Francisco, California, United States. This is not a remote role.
