As Director of Delivery Solution Architects (DSA), Public Sector, you will lead a high-impact post-sales technical organization that helps government customers realize value from the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. Your mission is to ensure that complex Data and AI initiatives—across federal civilian, defense, intelligence, state and local government, education, and public-sector-adjacent organizations—move from concept to production as quickly, securely, and effectively as possible. You will lead DSA managers and a growing team of Delivery Solution Architects responsible for technical strategy, customer outcomes, platform adoption, and usage growth across the Public Sector. You will bridge technical strategy and durable customer value, ensuring teams guide customers through architecture decisions, implementation planning, and scalable operating models for data, analytics, AI, and agentic applications. You will make investment and coverage decisions in collaboration with regional Sales and Field Engineering leaders, shape the value proposition of the DSA function for Public Sector, and build an organization that delivers predictable customer outcomes in a complex, high-growth environment. The Impact You Will Have: Build and lead: Recruit, coach, and scale a diverse, high-performing team of DSAs and managers. Foster a culture of psychological safety, collaboration, and customer obsession. Define, operationalize, and continuously improve the post-sales execution strategy for Databricks’ Public Sector business. Partner with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Professional Services, Customer Success, and strategic partners to align account plans, technical success plans, resource investments, and growth strategies. Establish scalable account assignments, customer coverage, prioritization, capacity planning, and resource-allocation practices for strategic Public Sector accounts. Standardize how DSAs guide customers from use-case discovery and architecture through implementation, production go-live, adoption, and platform expansion. Lead a technically excellent DSA organization with deep expertise in cloud data platforms, data engineering, warehousing, ETL/ELT, streaming, governance, machine learning, generative AI, and agentic applications. Ensure customers receive practical, secure, scalable architectural guidance for production data products, analytics platforms, AI applications, and mission-critical workloads. Apply Public Sector-specific requirements—including security, compliance, governance, mission continuity, procurement, and complex stakeholder environments—to architecture and delivery decisions. Serve as a trusted executive technical advisor for select strategic customers, linking technical roadmaps and modernization programs to agency missions and measurable outcomes. Build strong executive and operational relationships across customer technical, program, procurement, operational, and leadership stakeholders to accelerate adoption and long-term value. Create operating mechanisms, playbooks, metrics, and review cadences to monitor customer health, delivery progress, adoption, usage growth, risks, escalations, and forecasted expansion. Drive cross-functional resolution of delivery blockers and escalations, while providing leadership feedback on field processes, product needs, programs, and organizational investments. What We Look For: 7+ years of customer-facing experience in technical delivery, architecture, consulting, customer success, professional services, or post-sales leadership roles. 5+ years of people-leadership experience, proven ability to recruit, coach, develop, and build career paths for high-performing technical talent, including success leading managers and scaling multi-level technical organizations. Experience building and leading post-sales, delivery, customer success, architecture, consulting, or professional-services organizations. Deep expertise in cloud data and AI technologies, including data engineering, data warehousing, analytics, ETL/ELT, data governance, machine learning, data science, and AI. Demonstrated success delivering production-grade data products, analytics platforms, AI solutions, and other scalable, secure, and governable customer workloads. Ability to lead teams through architecture decisions, technical success planning, delivery execution, production go-lives, and customer-growth strategies. Deep understanding of Public Sector and regulated customer environments, including mission priorities, complex stakeholder models, governance requirements, and long planning cycles. Executive presence and business acumen to engage senior leaders, manage strategic accounts, and make portfolio-level resource, investment, coverage, and prioritization decisions. Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of partnering across Sales, pre-sales, Professional Services, Customer Success, Engineering, Product, Marketing, and external partners to resolve escalations, mitigate risk, remove blockers, and improve customer outcomes. Additional Requirements: U.S. citizenship is required due to Public Sector client-support requirements. Willingness to travel up to 30%, primarily within the Washington, D.C. metro area and to customer locations as needed. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Pay Range Transparency Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
