We are backed by industry leading investors including Accel, Naspers/Prosus, Creaegis, Section32, and angels like Sheryl Sandberg and Dustin Moskovitz. Headquartered in Silicon Valley and with offices in London, Bangalore and Vancouver, Ema is at the frontier of what Agentic AI can do in production. We ship real systems that run real business processes at scale.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a Field Marketing Manager, based in London, to build and run Ema’s on-the-ground presence across the UK and Europe. You’ll cover industry events, tradeshows, executive dinners and sponsored programs in our priority markets: the UK, France, DACH and Benelux, with the Nordics and wider Europe as they grow. You’ll be the connective tissue between our BDR, Sales, AI Strategy, Product Marketing and Design teams, turning live experiences into qualified pipeline.
You’ll be Ema’s first field marketer in the region, working alongside our US Field Marketing Manager. Our Marketing Lead sets the global event strategy and budget. Within that, you own the UK and Europe calendar: which events we back, which cities we show up in, and how we run them. Then you execute it.
We need someone who thrives in startup environments, moves fast, and doesn’t wait for permission to solve problems. If you’ve built field programs across more than one European market, know how to get scrappy when budgets are tight, and can run a booth in London one week and an executive dinner in Paris the next, we want to talk to you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Regional Event Planning
- Build and maintain the UK and Europe event calendar within the global strategy and budget set by our Marketing Lead.
- Recommend which conferences, tradeshows and sponsorships to back in each market, based on target accounts, pipeline and cost. Know the difference between an event that matters in London and one that matters in Munich or Amsterdam.
- Work with the US Field Marketing Manager to share what works, reuse playbooks and assets, and keep the two programs consistent.
Event Execution & Operations
- Plan, manage and execute end-to-end logistics for industry conferences, tradeshows and Ema-hosted events (executive roundtables, dinners, meetups) across the UK and Europe.
- Manage all on-site operations: booth design, staffing, signage, swag, shipping, A/V, catering and speaker logistics. You’re the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Handle the cross-border details that US events don’t have: shipping and customs between the UK and the EU, local venues and suppliers, and GDPR-compliant lead capture.
- Evaluate sponsorship opportunities, negotiate vendor contracts and manage event budgets to maximise ROI.
Pipeline & Sales Alignment
- Work with the BDR team and Sales to align event programming with target accounts and pipeline goals in each market.
- Coordinate pre-event outreach, booth and event activations, and post-event follow-up to drive lead conversion.
- Make sure every event lead reaches Sales quickly and cleanly. No leads die on the vine.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with AI Strategists, Product Marketing and Design so demos, collateral and messaging are event-ready, on-brand and right for the local audience.
- Support broader demand-generation campaigns as needed, including regional activations and partner co-marketing events.
- Work across time zones with US-based marketing and leadership, with some early-evening calls.
Measurement & Optimisation
- Track and report on event performance by market (leads generated, pipeline influenced, cost per lead, attendance, deal acceleration) and share insights to improve the program.
- Obsess over what’s working vs. what’s noise, and use data to make the case for where we invest next.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5–7+ years of field marketing, event marketing or demand-gen experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology, with a track record of running events in the UK and at least one other European market. Startup experience is required. You’ve built programs, not just inherited them.
- A working knowledge of the European event circuit and what each market expects, from London tech weeks to Paris and DACH industry shows.
- Exceptional project management skills. You can juggle 5+ events in different countries and stages at once without dropping a ball. You live in spreadsheets, timelines and run-of-show docs.
- A roll-up-your-sleeves operator. You’re the person zip-tying cables to a booth at 6 AM, getting a pallet of swag through customs, and sending the recap email before the Eurostar pulls in.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills. You partner naturally with Sales, BDRs, Product Marketing and executives, including colleagues eight hours behind you, without needing to be managed into it.
- Experience with HubSpot and marketing automation platforms to track attribution and ROI, and a practical grasp of GDPR as it applies to event data.
- Proficiency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to speed up day-to-day work, from drafting event briefs to analysing post-event data. We’re an AI company and we expect you to work like one.
- Comfort with ambiguity and fast-moving environments. Priorities shift, budgets change, events get added last minute, and you handle it. This is a fast growing Series B company. If you need a playbook handed to you, this isn’t the role.
- High agency and an ownership mindset. As our first field marketer in Europe, you’ll see gaps and fill them without waiting to be asked.
LOCATION & TRAVEL
- Based in/near London, working hybrid from our London office.
- Travel up to 40% across the UK and Europe, with occasional trips to the US.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.
