HR Generalist Omen AI | San Francisco, in office | Full time About Omen Omen builds liquid cooling and monitoring for AI data centers. We sell hardware and software to data center operators, neoclouds and the OEMs that supply them. We're a venture-backed, Series A team that moves fast, and we're hiring across engineering, sales, finance, legal and operations. The role You'll be Omen's first HR hire. You will improve and build the HR function at Omen. If you’re looking for an opportunity to do a lot of 0 to 1 work and have high ownership, that’s what this is. What you'll do Build/Improve onboarding and offboarding so every new hire is set up and productive from day one Run our HR system of record: people data, PTO and documents in one place Run benefits administration and open enrollment with our broker and payroll provider Own compliance: California and multi-state employment rules, I-9s, required postings and trainings Be the go-to for employee questions and employee relations, including hard conversations and investigations Build simple, repeatable processes for offers, promotions, leaves and departures Partner with the founders and hiring managers as the team scales What you bring 3+ years as an HR generalist or people operations generalist, ideally at a startup or a small team Hands-on generalist work across onboarding, benefits, employee relations and compliance, not just coordination You want to be the first HR person and build from scratch, not run someone else's playbook Judgment with sensitive situations, and knowing when to bring in employment counsel Organized, and you keep process simple enough that people actually use it Comfortable at a startup where priorities change week to week Nice to have You've been the first or only HR person at a startup before Hardware, manufacturing, data center or energy companies, including hourly or field teams and workplace safety Experience setting up an HRIS (Rippling, Gusto, Justworks or similar) at an early-stage company SHRM-CP or PHR Comp Base 110-150k + equity + benefits
