QuantumDiamonds is looking for a proactive and hands-on Operations Intern / Working Student to join our growing Operations team and support us across supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory, and ERP processes.

As we scale our systems, production, and customer deployments globally, our Operations team makes sure that the right components and materials are in the right place at the right time. You’ll work closely with our Operations, Engineering, and Production teams and get exposure to the processes behind building and delivering complex hardware products.

This is not an internship where you’ll just observe from the sidelines. You’ll take ownership of real operational topics, support our day-to-day business, and help us build more structured and scalable processes as QuantumDiamonds grows.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

You’ll get hands-on exposure to different parts of Operations and gradually take ownership of your own topics as you get familiar with QD.

Procurement & suppliers

• Support day-to-day procurement activities, from creating purchase requests and purchase orders to following up on deliveries.

• Keep track of orders, lead times and potential delays with suppliers, and help flag risks early.

• Support communication and coordination with suppliers where needed.

Logistics & shipments

• Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, including shipping documentation, pick-ups and, where relevant, customs and export paperwork.

• Help keep materials and components moving smoothly between suppliers, our labs, production and other internal teams.

• Support incoming goods and make sure materials reach the right people and places.

Inventory & ERP

• Help keep material availability and inventory transparent, so our teams have what they need when they need it.

• Maintain accurate supplier, purchasing, inventory and material data in our Odoo ERP system.

• Help us keep our ERP data structured, reliable and useful as we scale.

Processes & Operations projects

• Look for ways to make our logistics, procurement and supply chain processes simpler, faster and more scalable — and help us put those improvements into practice.

• Support data analysis, documentation and other Operations projects depending on your interests and the team’s priorities.

• Work closely with Engineering, Production and other teams to solve everyday operational challenges.

Take ownership

• As you grow into the role, we want you to take ownership of your own operational topics — whether that’s keeping an eye on open orders and lead times, improving how incoming goods are handled, or making sure our ERP data and processes can keep up as QD grows.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

• You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• You are available either for a full-time internship of 6 months or as a working student for at least 6 months.

• You are organised, reliable, and enjoy bringing structure

ABOUT US

QuantumDiamonds GmbH, headquartered in Munich, Germany, develops and manufactures semiconductor inspection systems based on quantum sensing. Spun out of the Technical University of Munich in 2022, the company uses nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond to map electrical current with micrometer precision inside advanced 2.5D and 3D chip architectures. Nine of the world's ten largest semiconductor manufacturers are engaged with QuantumDiamonds, with systems deployed across Europe, the United States, and Asia. The company is investing €152 million to build the world's first production facility for quantum sensing-based semiconductor inspection tools, supported under the European Chips Act.
