Product Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a product-focused engineering role at a small, mission-driven energy tech company building AI-first software for electricity retailers across Europe. You will sit at the intersection of customer discovery and end-to-end delivery, turning complex energy domain challenges into intuitive, production-grade experiences that move the business forward.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Spend time with customers to uncover real problems and build product intuition that drives engineering decisions.

• Ship full-stack features end-to-end, from discovery through production deployment.

• Use AI-native development tools such as Claude Code and Cursor as force multipliers to accelerate delivery.

• Own zero-to-one problems like dunning workflows, customer portal re-engineering, and other core energy retail challenges.

• Decide what to build, what to skip, and when to kill initiatives based on strong judgment and ownership.

• Tackle core energy retail domains including billing, procurement, customer retention, and cost optimization.

• Help shape engineering culture, tooling, and processes, and raise the bar when recruiting.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• A strong track record of shipping real, end-to-end full-stack products; demonstrated work matters more than years on a resume.

• Evidence of technical exceptionality through high-bar organizations, outstanding shipped projects, competitive programming, research, or founding experience.

• Comfort owning the full stack and thriving in ambiguous, early-stage environments.

• Fluency with AI-native development tools and a mindset that treats them as genuine productivity multipliers.

• Experience at a seed to Series C startup and comfort with high-velocity ownership.

• Interest or experience in energy retail problems such as billing, procurement, customer retention, or cost optimization.

• Strong university background in a relevant field.

• German fluency at a professional level (C1 or above).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: 80,000 to 120,000 EUR annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

LOCATION

On-site in Berlin, Germany (Mitte), primarily five days per week. Remote applicants will not be considered.
